Why Cornerstone Christian School?
K-12 Accredited
Since 1981 Cornerstone has partnered with families in the provision of a Christian education centered on a biblical worldview.
Cornerstone maintains K-12 accreditation by two organizations, with the leading agency being the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). ACSI is an internationally recognized accrediting organization. It ensures member schools have undergone careful self-analysis and have met accrediting standards for their educational program. The Connecticut State Department of Education recognizes ACSI as an approved accrediting agency. Cornerstone teachers actively maintain ACSI teacher certification.
Our partnership with ACSI provides us with the ability to join other, like-minded Christian schools for various events competitions. Additionally, our faculty is able to network with other Christian educators across the country through various professional development opportunities.
Cornerstone is also dually accredited by the Middle States Association: Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA).
The Admissions Process
Campus Visit
We strongly encourage families who are considering a partnership with Cornerstone Christian School to tour our campus. A campus tour allows your family to experience our culture, explore our facilities, and become acquainted with our staff and faculty.
Testing
We want your student to excel. As we jointly consider partnering in the education of your child, it’s important for us to assess his/her readiness for our program. Through the testing of students entering Grades 1-12, we can ensure that our program is a great fit. In some cases, recent, formal standardized test results from your student’s current school may be sufficient.
Family Interview
At this step, it’s our goal to learn more about you, and allow you to have any lingering questions answered. We’ll discuss the results of your child’s assessment and our recommendations for moving forward.
Notice of Acceptance
Once your child's acceptance has been finalized, you will receive an acceptance letter and a packet of helpful information from our Parent, Teacher, and Friends Association (PTFA).
Non-Discrimination Policy
Cornerstone Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national and ethnic origin in administration of the educational policies, scholarships and loan programs, athletic and other school-administration programs.
