Celebrating Faculty Accomplishments

While we look ahead to the Class of 2024 graduation, we are also celebrating some exciting graduations of our faculty members!

Mrs. Elaine Shemenski, our Grade 2 teacher, recently graduated with her Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Elementary Education from Liberty University.

Mr. Alex Clark, our High School History teacher, graduated with his Master of Arts in History specific to U.S. Foreign Policy.

We also celebrate the accomplishments of two of our recently hired teachers who will be joining the Cornerstone family in the fall! Mrs. Charity-Ann Baker, Ed.D. will be joining us as our Grade 1 teacher and part-time Faculty Development Administrator. Doctor Baker recently received her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Hartford.

Miss Annika Christopherson will be joining us as our new Grade 3 teacher. Miss Christopherson graduated with her Master of Science in Early Childhood Education at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Congratulations to each of these graduates!

Completing my Masters in History has been a long time in the making. I want to thank my family and friends for their encouragement, my students for putting up with my dialogues regarding the U.S. Foreign Policy, and most of all my wife, who without her strong support, encouragement, and help I would not have been able to complete this achievement. This degree will further my ability to help my students understand history, and fulfill the mission of the school: Teaching Truth, Training Minds, Transforming Lives.

I am deeply thankful for the encouragement and support of my family and friends over the past five years. It’s a strange feeling to have “extra” time at the end of the day and I am using it to connect meaningfully with my family. This degree helped me to “Level Up” as an educator. I learned new tools and instructional techniques appropriate for young learners, and I have a better understanding of how students learn. I am so thankful for the opportunity to use my gifts and skills at Cornerstone and to invest in the lives of my young friends.
