A Sweet Way to Kick off the School Year!
The school campus was full of excitement during the last two weeks of August! We love the many annual traditions that celebrate the start of a new year.
TEACHER ORIENTATION BREAKFAST
With gratitude for the teacher blessings funds raised in the winter auction, our faculty and staff enjoyed an orientation breakfast on their first day back from summer break. While the PTFA has typically arranged this gesture of welcoming thanks to our faculty and staff, others stepped in this year to keep the tradition alive, while the PTFA is in flux.
FIRST DAY BACK PARENT BREAKFAST
Our administrators and teachers enjoyed seeing the smiling faces and hearing the joyful giggles as we welcomed our students and their families to our first day of school theme celebration! Following the morning’s activities, we provided a light breakfast for our parents. We are thankful to Silk City for their generous coffee donation and for the parents who worked together to provide breakfast refreshments.
SWEET FROG FELLOWSHIP
In keeping with tradition, families enjoyed a sweet time of Sweet Frog fellowship after school on our first day back! In addition to the fellowship opportunity, the whipped cream on top of the frozen yogurt sundae is that Sweet Frog graciously donates to Cornerstone a portion of their sales to our families during each of these events. We are grateful!
BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH
We welcomed our students back to school with our traditional first Friday Back-to-School Bash! Families enjoyed fellowship and fun in the sun, with music, ice cream cups, a community canvas art project, and a STEM activity of building structures using uncooked spaghetti noodles and mini marshmallows. Four brave students also worked together as a team to take on four-legged and run mat challenges.
